Privacy notice

Effective August 27, 2026. This notice explains the current privacy approach for the Emelyn website and service.

The short version

We collect the information needed to create and secure accounts, respond to you, provide the service, and improve the workflows you choose to use. We do not sell personal information. Optional analytics should remain off unless you choose to allow them, and you can contact us about your information at any time.

1. Scope and responsibility

This notice applies to personal information handled through the Emelyn website, account registration, use of the service, and support conversations. “Emelyn,” “we,” and “us” refer to the people operating the service. A paid offer will identify the legal entity responsible for your information before you accept it.

This notice does not govern a third-party website, social network, or service that you access independently. Their privacy terms apply to their handling of information. Where Emelyn processes content on behalf of an organization, that organization may also be responsible for deciding how the content is used.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you interact with Emelyn, we may collect:

  • Contact and inquiry information, such as your name, email address, organization, role, and the workflow details you choose to share.
  • Account information, such as login identifiers, organization membership, settings, and records needed to secure access. We should not receive your password in readable form.
  • Workflow content, such as sources, topics, brand guidance, instructions, drafts, edits, approvals, and publishing context that you provide or authorize Emelyn to process.
  • Service and device information, such as request times, browser and device details, approximate network location, pages used, errors, security events, and request identifiers.
  • Communications, including messages, feedback, support context, and records of choices or agreements made while using the service.

Please do not send passwords, access tokens, payment-card data, government identifiers, health information, or other sensitive personal information unless an agreed workflow expressly requires it and suitable safeguards have been confirmed first.

3. How we use information

We use information where needed to:

  • register and secure accounts and respond to questions or requests;
  • create, configure, operate, support, and troubleshoot the service and workflows you choose to use;
  • authenticate users, prevent abuse, investigate incidents, and protect customers and the service;
  • communicate about your account, material product changes, security, support, and accepted commercial terms;
  • understand reliability and improve the product using information appropriate to that purpose; and
  • meet legal obligations, enforce agreements, and establish or defend legal claims.

We do not use an advertising click as proof that you became a customer, and we do not place message bodies, passwords, tokens, private drafts, or payment details into product analytics. If a new use is materially different from the purpose described when information was collected, we will provide notice and seek consent where required.

4. When information is shared

We may share limited information with:

  • Service providers that help operate hosting, identity, communications, security, analytics, or artificial-intelligence capabilities under instructions appropriate to their role.
  • Connected services when you direct Emelyn to read from or publish to an account you control.
  • Professional advisers and authorities where reasonably necessary for legal, security, accounting, or compliance purposes.
  • A successor organization during a proposed financing, acquisition, reorganization, or asset transfer, subject to appropriate confidentiality and notice obligations.

We do not sell personal information. We also do not share private workflow content for unrelated targeted advertising. You can contact us for the available information about material providers and subprocessors before sending production content or accepting a paid offer.

5. Cookies, local preferences, and analytics

The site may use strictly necessary browser storage to remember security, session, theme, or privacy choices. Optional analytics and non-essential cookies should not initialize unless your recorded choice allows them. Declining optional analytics does not block the core public site or account-registration path.

When optional analytics are enabled, we aim to collect limited page, interaction, acquisition-source, device, and performance information rather than private form content. You can revisit the cookie settings from the site footer. Clearing browser storage may reset the choice on that device.

6. Retention, location, and security

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose described, an active account or service relationship, security and backup cycles, dispute resolution, or a legal requirement. Different categories may require different periods. We will document any customer-specific retention or deletion commitment in written paid terms where it matters.

Providers may process information in countries other than your own. Contact us for the available information about material hosting locations and transfer arrangements relevant to your use. Do not submit regulated or location-restricted data until those details have been confirmed.

We use technical and organizational safeguards intended to protect information, including access controls and secure transport where appropriate. No service can guarantee absolute security. Contact us promptly if you believe an Emelyn account or connected workflow has been compromised.

7. Your choices and requests

You may choose not to provide optional information, although that can limit our ability to provide or configure a workflow. You can decline optional analytics, withdraw a marketing preference, disconnect a connected service, stop using the service, or ask us to close your account.

Depending on where you live and the circumstances, you may have rights to ask about, access, correct, delete, restrict, or receive a copy of personal information, or object to certain uses. To make a request, email us from an address we can reasonably verify. We may ask for additional information to protect against unauthorized disclosure or deletion, and we will explain if a request cannot be completed.

Emelyn is intended for business users and is not directed to children. Please do not provide personal information about a child unless the agreed service and applicable safeguards explicitly allow it.

8. Changes and contact

We will update this notice as providers, launch markets, and data practices become final. The effective date above shows the current version. For a material change, we will provide appropriate notice before the change applies and request a new choice where required.

Questions, security concerns, and privacy requests can be sent to hello@emelyn.ai. Please avoid placing sensitive content in the first message.
